Restoring the core of who we are.

REmember.

Our memory is what makes who we are. It is the unique collection of experiences, people and events that define both how we present to the world around us as well as form the foundation of personality, character and individuality. Our memory is, quite literally, us. And while our memory defines us, it can also be damaged, distorted and harmed through life experiences. There is much harm in this world and some of it rubs off on us. Our minds and spirits want to be healthy, but sometimes this is masked and prevented by memories that are not at all pleasant. Part of the counseling process that is integral to healing, is bringing healing to those memories that torture us and allowing us to remember, in healthy ways, those events and people that make us who we are. Remembering is key to our FAITH because it reminds us we are part of a larger story. It helps place us in that story and offers perspective and paves the way for growth.

COurage.

Often we think about courage as being without fear, but courage is not the absence of fear, doubt and uncertainty. It is what we do in the face of those fears, doubts and uncertainties that show our courage. Courage is choosing to act or speak when it is required and relevant, instead of being silent. Courage allows us to move toward instead of away. Courage is built on experiences and operates in tandem with our memory; it is the way we LOVE in the present, built on faith from the past.

REdemption.

The word literally means to buy something back or to cancel a debt. It is the process through which we are brought back from the brink of disaster in terms of what life throws our way. We are all fighting a battle daily and the thought of redemption is the HOPE that allows us to persist. The counseling process enables us to bring new meaning to old experiences in order to be able to live differently in the present. In this way, we redeem the old and allow newness to permeate our lives. Without the possibility of redemption, life can lack meaning and purpose. We aim to find and then shine light on the redemptive process in the lives of all of our clients.
